On the occasion of the Feast of the Rose in the rose garden of L'Hay les Roses (Val de Marne), the bust of Jules Gravereaux, founder of this Rose Garden was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by the descendants of this famous collector of roses. After the ceremony and a huge picnic in the regional park of the Rose Garden, a dance performance took place under the astonished eyes of the public! Dance companies by Carole Hacker, Marie-Pierre Remy and Nicole Lefebvre have evolved, each in their style, around the basin of the Rose Garden. The event was breathed new life to splendid festivals and shows bright introduced to the Belle Epoque, by Jules Gravereaux. Throughout the day, the painters of the Cercle L'Haÿssiens des Arts, straw hat on her head, set up their easels in the among of the roses.
